Rod Marsh

Affirm Press is very sad to say goodbye to cricket star and author, Rod Marsh. Many of the team got to know Rod while publishing his 2018 autobiography, and he was highly regarded by all. Rod’s skill as a sportsman was legendary, as was the sense of comradery he possessed on and off the field. Some of those who worked with Rod on his book shared their thoughts:

‘Deflated to hear of Rod Marsh’s passing. It was one of the fondest times of my career working closely with him on his illustrated biography a few years ago. Such an impressive and humble guy, with a wicked sense of humour and always quick to laugh at himself. Raising a Guinness to you Rod, and sending sincere condolences to Ros and family.’ Martin Hughes, CEO and Publishing Director

‘Extremely sad to hear that Rod is no longer with us. I’ll never forget accidentally getting the car towed during his book tour; there we were with a whole morning of breakfast radio interviews lined up and the car had been impounded in some far away Perth suburb. Rod found the whole thing hilarious and brought so much levity to what felt, in the moment, like an absolute professional disaster to me. He was truly generous in time and spirit. Sending my best wishes to Ros and his family.’ Grace Breen, Publishing and Marketing Manager.

We send our condolences to Rod’s wife Ros, children, grandchildren and all those who had the pleasure of meeting him.
