Congratulations to Joseph Debattista, winner of the competition celebrating The Flying Kangaroo: 100 Years of Qantas!

To celebrate the release of The Flying Kangaroo: 100 Years of Qantas by Neil Montagnana-Wallace, we were thrilled to offer a prize pack for a family outback adventure to the value of $5000. Joseph was one of more than 500 readers who shared with us in 50 words or less what Qantas means to them. Joseph wrote:

As an infant immigrant from Malta arriving in Australia in 1965, the QANTAS 707 that brought my family to this new life has embedded itself in my psyche as the most elegant and exciting of machines, with its flying kangaroo an icon of the future, the hope of dreams fulfilled.

Joseph’s prize pack includes:

  • Return flights for two adults and two children from your nearest capital city to Longreach, Queensland, where Qantas was founded
  • Family pass to the Qantas Founders Museum and Luminescent Longreach light show
  • Family pass to the Australian Stockman’s Hall of Fame
  • Family accommodation in Longreach for four nights.

Congratulations Joseph!
